Family Background
Sanjaybhau Deshmukh was born in a traditional Marathi family. He is one of the four children of late Shri. Uttamrao Deshmukh (Police Patil) and Mrs Savitabai Deshmukh. With carrying the successful ancestral farming business, the whole family committed to society's improvement which can be still seen today.
Being the dearest and closest to his father, Sanjay Bhau could always see his father's love and affection toward his village in his eyes. His admiration and resemblance for his father made him carry his father's name Police Patil proudly after him.
He faced enormous challenges at his very early age. In the dam crisis, the entire village had migrated to another place. Sanjay Bhau saw losing his father's all hard-earned fertile land in front of his eyes. The whole family's life cycle was in trouble due to meager compensation and no other source of earning.
Sanjay Bhau didn't give up and acted like a responsible man of the family. The younger brother Ishwar acted just like the name and successfully cleared the IAS exam. Sanjay Bhau didn't stop till his brother completed the IAS degree on 2 October 2001 and sacrificed everything for his education.
Both the brother swore that they would not let other children struggle like them for education, and they provide free education to deprived and weaker sections of society. This speaks loudly about the importance of thier father's leanings in thier life and courage to carry it despite any circumstance.
Vision
Sanjay Bhau has always believed in society's harmony and development as his primary goal throughout his political career. He never cared about getting the power of politicians but always considered equality, justice, brotherhood, growth, and unity as his accomplishments. They say complete development is impossible to assimilate power, and one man can't do it but Bhau proved it wrong. Sanjay Bhau worked on multiple development projects in the allotted time, and many new schemes were implemented for the overall development of farming, jobs, businesses, and women empowerment. In his recent Arunavati projects, the benefits can be seen in many other areas. The arrangement of backwater water, increment in irrigation measures, and creation of new wells, borewells, farms, rain harvesting, and watershed management were done. This project helped in the overall improvement of farming and created a lot of jobs and income opportunities for youth.
Sanjay Bhau is always committed to employment-oriented education facilities, projects like MIDC for small-scale industries, the creation of self-help groups for women to make them self-employed, the provision of loans from banks for doing business, and the provision of health facilities for the masses. He has a firm vision that he wants to accomplish for our society.
Work when he was not ruling
Position, opportunity, and time are not necessary for doing duties; what important are your strong courage, strength, and vision. And only on his strength and courage, Sanjaybhau still squashes his constituency and visit all places by himself to meet villagers which he considers his own family.
Bhau has large supporters and followers all over Maharashtra. This large supporter base includes not only common people but also the victims of this system, who calls Bhau as a 'right man,' to bring change in this system, and Bhau also works with the same zeal to give them justice and keep the harmony of society. His willingness to do whatever it takes for the truth, justice, equality makes him different than other politicians.
Sanjay Bhau is the man who raised the matter of our farmers not getting loans on time and contest the elections only to issue an order from the presidency to sanction and disburse loans to farmers in time. Sanjay Bhau Deshmukh today called an 'Aapla Manus', 'Dev Manus', by farmers. He is the man who lives for society, fights for the poor, demands farmers' rights, works for the young unemployed. He is a man who sacrifices everything for people without any hesitation.
*Past work*
As soon as Sanjay Bhau got the opportunity to represent in the assembly, he started his development work like a storm. Many developments work such as roads, health, and educational facilities, community centers, temples were renovated by him.
In 2001 he became the Minister of State for Sports. He conducted "All India Kabaddi " at a small town like Digras and showed how good planning could make anything possible.
Sanjaybhau himself was a kabaddi player in his college life and won many university competitions. As a sports player, he could understood the other players’ feelings and knew every player needs support, not only in terms of opportunity but also mentally, emotionally, and financially. That's why he provided 5% reservation in jobs for sports players to get manager thier finance and focus on sports on thier own. He had also set up a sports complex in each Taluka so that every player can have their nearby place for practice. By conducting the right environment, opportunities, and resources for sports players, he became the real champion for them.
He also helped poor, socially backward, children through "Shravanbal Yojana," and provided support to many families and elders. Sanjay Bhau has done many such development works in the state as well as in his constituency that many still witnessing and benefiting..
Social work
Through his own charitable organizations like Sanjaybhau Mitra Mandal, Ishwar Pratishthan, and many others, he consistently worked for the society which includes self-employment creation workshops, expert guidance, women safety workshops, and many others. Sanjaybhau's wife Mrs. Vaishalitai Sanjayrao Deshmukh took inspiration from his life and founded the Ishwar Foundation. The main objective of this organization is to make women self-employed and financially independent. In this foundation, they educate and train poor, illiterate women for various jobs such as free sewing, formation of self-help groups and provided heavy support for setting up businesses, free cooking training, adoption of girls and their education, etc.
In case of any crisis, emergence, or epidemic situation, Sanjaybhau inspired 'Sanjaybhau Mitra Mandal' is always stay prepared for activities like blood donation camps, food donation, distribution of necessary items to the needy, health camps for the elderly. In the world’s most dangerous pandemic of Corona Virus, his organization has worked with full dedication to provide free beds, oxygen, food, and PPE kit to suffering people risking thier own life, when people lost all hopes from the ruling government.
Political journey
We have a tradition of saying, 'There must be differences in opinion, but no difference in a relationship," and Bhau ideally fits in this scenario. Seeing Bhau's work experience, people of many castes, different sectors, different parties, and organizations come to him without any hesitation, which is why Sanjaybhau never joined any particular party, so that he could help everyone without any disputes. We can see Phule, Shahu, the turban of Ambedkar's independent thinking in his work. Sanjay Bhau represented the Legislative Assembly not once but twice in a row as an independent, believing in the principle of inter-religious harmony with all the weaker sections of the society.
His political journey was not been easy or sudden. Bhau's actual political career began in 1998. He was working as the district head of Yavatmal district. Before that, Sanjaybhau was also active in the politics of the cooperative sector in the village. The people around him saw his dedication toward society and encouraged him to join politics and do something in a larger scale.

Why Politics
The development and change need to happen in every village of this country because rural development is considered the fundamental core of the country's overall development. The majority of people in our country lives in rural areas, and most rely on traditional farming.
From the beginning Sanjay Bhau was making plans of what can we do to uplift the living standards of farmers and agricultural labourers, help them get thier production and sale in the market, and how can we help youth in thier employment in the agriculture sector. He created a whole development plan of what should be done.
Seeing the incapability, incompetence and indifference of the ruling party, he took a direct part in politics for the sake of popular interest and understanding the need of the hour. He Penalised big, powerful, dynastic parties for not operating. He was first elected as an MLA in 1999 as an independent and re-elected independent in November 2001, later became the Minister of State for Sports.
