A newbie is an editor with little or no experience editing Wikipedia. An editor may be presumed to be a newbie if his/her contributions log shows few edits (it is debateable what is considered to be "few"). However, a low number does not necessarily mean the editor with a specific name is automatically a newbie, as the same person may have had previous experience under a different username (sometimes legitimate) or a lot of prior IP editing.
