South Dakota

I have spent my entire life living in South Dakota. Seeing as how there are only a handful of other editors who actively trying to take pictures for the South Dakota articles I thought this would be a great way to help out.

Sioux Falls

This is a high res shot I've been working on for a while now. It is put together from 35 seperate images which is why it is so massive. It took so long to finish because I had to learn how to do a bunch of new things in Hugin and The GIMP to fix barrel distortion and some stitching errors. It was recently promoted to Quality Image status. I think I want to go back and retake it once the renovation work is done so the ugly scaffolding won't be there. This is the skyline as seen from the 10th St. viaduct just East of downtown. This is a panorama of the 8th St. Bridge in downtown Sioux Falls. It is stitched together from four separate pictures. This is the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls. This is Tower Park, just North of downtown. It is right on Main St. It's rather small and out of the way so I think most people have no idea it's there. St. Joseph's Cathedral behind Hawthorne Elementary. St. Jospeh's Cathedral and school. The visitor center at Falls Park. The Big Sioux Falls almost completely frozen over. Someone made a tiny snowman in Falls Park. The Great Bear Recreation Park just outside of town. The lift and terrain park at Great Bear. The tubing hill at Great Bear. Delmont My wife grew up in Delmont and so when we went back for the Firemen's Sausage Supper I thought I'd take some pictures. The old public school which was condemned a few years ago. Hope Lutheran church in Delmont. Zion Lutheran is the largest church in Delmont. The old pump house which is now a museum. The "Onion House" in Delmont. Can't say enough good things about the Blue Bird Locker. The local Volunteer Fire Dept. The old First State Bank building, now a city office. The old opera block. It was a grocery store for many years, but is now just office space. A memorial for the volunteer firefighters. Other The Hutchinson County courthouse in Olivet.
