I'm Dr Sara Thomas, Programme Manager for Wikimedia UK, working mainly on Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and volunteering across the UK. This is my work account, my volunteer account can be found at User:lirazelf.
Biography
I studied at the University of Glasgow, and hold an MA(Hons) in English Literature, and a PhD in Popular Music (English Literature / Theatre, Film & Television Studies). I am an events & volunteer manager, and digital trainer.
I worked in music venue management for around ten years, before moving to the third sector as a fundraiser and event manager.
Work
I lead on the development and delivery of Wikimedia UK’s programme in Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland, plus overseeing our work with volunteers across the UK, in collaboration with the Director of Programmes and Evaluation. I pursue and develop relationships with partner organisations, and support and develop volunteers as well as our Wikimedians in Residence.
