I am a student at Marquette University majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Chemistry. After I am done with my undergraduate education, I want to go to veterinary medical school, so that I can become a veterinarian. Clearly, I am an animal lover. I have volunteered at animal shelters working with cats, dogs, and rabbits, I have volunteered at stables working with horses, and most recently, I started an internship working with seals and sea lions. Last semester, I completed a research project on Environmental Microbiology, specifically detecting the presence of genes encoding for extended-spectrum beta-lactamases from bacterial isolates from Zebra mussels from Lake Michigan. I am involved in many organizations on campus, including the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association Club, Campus Ministry Club, and Alpha Sigma Nu. In my free time, I like to play tennis, sketch pictures, and hug cats.
