"
Guitarist and Musician Ron Sword has been teaching and running his studio for the past 5 years in Central Florida. He is known locally for his improvisational finesse and technical knowledge of recording and tone, as well as his microtonal tunings and extreme guitars. He isbest known for his four books ranging from traditional to conceptual music theory, including "Tricesimoprimal scales for guitar" which discusses microtonal serialized applications and an extensive library of scales mapped for 8 strings. The book was published in early 2009. He is particularly interested in Prime Just tunings and Non-Octave scales which he has now incorporated into his Extreme avant-garde metal group, Last Sacrament.
Beyond simply changing the tuning, Sword is experimenting with the different compositional resources available through open source programming through real-time spectral experiments with his tone and timbre by drawing dissonance curves and has been working the past year to convert them into standalone processors built by himself.
Sword uses his hand built Microtonal guitars in his Extreme metal group, Last Sacrament, in various ET and Just Intonation tunings he has worked out. The group is the first Extreme metal band to fully use Xenharmony, Microtonality, and non-octave scales in metal music."
