Disagreeing with a team-related edit
The volunteer team strongly recommends that you contact the editor responsible prior to reverting. While OTRS agents are not above English Wikipedia policies and do not have any specific editorial control, the agent may be in possession of confidential information that should not be published on a public site such as Wikipedia.
If you disagree with an edit whose summary or log referenced an OTRS ticket, you may initiate the review procedures, which are (in order) as follows:
- Contact the editor who made their change, preferably by e-mail, otherwise on their user talk page. Private correspondence may provide more latitude for the team member to discuss privacy-related issues in confidence.
- If you disagree with the resulting view and would like a second opinion you have the following options:
- Contact another OTRS agent
- Leave a note on the OTRS noticeboard
- Contact an OTRS administrator directly, if necessary. Several OTRS administrators are local to the English Wikipedia.
- If you are still unable to fully resolve the dispute and the reason for the action includes non-public information, then the Arbitration Committee may be asked to look at the non-public aspects. Note (as always) that the committee itself will not make content decisions but can evaluate the merits of the edit(s)/action(s).
With all of the above in mind it is important to remember that all actions are subject to Wikipedia guidelines, policies and practices.
