While Hilltop Manor and Planeview have persisted, Beechwood was eventually dismantled. Today, Planeview United stands as a reminder of this era, facing challenges related to aging infrastructure and changing demographics. In the aftermath of the Vietnam War, many Southeast Asian refugees sought asylum in the United States. Planeview, with its supportive community and affordable housing, became a destination for some of these refugees. Resettlement agencies like the International Rescue Committee played a crucial role in assisting these newcomers, providing housing, employment assistance, and cultural orientation.
