Assigning a family to a minor planet is challenging. Depending on different models (HCM), cut-off limits, and new insights, the results can vary significantly. This project page summarizes the current status. For each notable family, a subpage lists all members (grouped into existing and non-existing minor-planet object pages). Based on the used source(s), approximately 100,000 numbered minor planets (out of 500k numbered bodies) have been assigned to one of 100+ families.
The systematic listing of all sourced family members in the sub-pages of this summary page may be used to evaluate the feasibility and value for changes in categorization and catalog-listing of minor planet on wikipedia.
