Hi! I'm pcwendland.

I have a degree in food science and work in product development and project management in the industry (though any edits I make are purely my own doing, not related to my employment). My outside-of-work food interests include nutritional biochemistry, gut bacteria, alternative protein sources like algae and bugs, food security, and food policy.

Beyond that, I have passions for fiber and textile art, the intricacies of English grammar, writing useful little Python scripts, fixing things, plant biology (especially pathology), medicine, neuroscience, cats, music, reading user manuals and style guides, cooking, and the great outdoors (hiking, camping, kayaking, sitting quietly and soaking in the beauty of our planet, etc.).

My favorite holiday is the Scripps National Spelling Bee. My favorite articles to send people after telling them a related fun fact are the Onion Futures Act and the 1811–1812 New Madrid earthquakes. I really like fun facts.
