  • Whereas, History of College is more than a century old, and cataloging rather a slow process, establishing Notability of Alumni a rather subjective and difficult task especially with those In Memoriam, efforts should be made to represent the values both of the College and Wikipedia.
  • Using as an example, some the title name of article about Alumni, some In Memoriam have non standardized usage and to confirm to brevity, some truncation of titles have been used e.g. Kumar Shree, a large category in titles, would be K.S. Name adjustment will be done using piping function.
  • Some of the abbreviation used, especially in Public & Military service, need recognition. e.g.
    • IAS Indian Administrative Service
    • IFS Indian Foreign Service

John McLeod :2 The Making of the Genealogy of the Jhallesvars In 1983, I was an undergraduate at the University of Toronto. I had recently embarked on a new project to occupy what little spare time I had between my studies and my duties as a member of Canada’s army reserves: to compile genealogies and short histories of the families that ruled the princely and chiefly states of modern India and Pakistan. Today, much of this information is readily available on the internet. That was not the case 34 years ago, when it had to be extracted from old books, archival records, and personal correspondence with members of the ruling families. The John P. Robarts Library at the University of Toronto has an outstanding collection of published materials that helped me enormously in my quest, and I began planning future trips to archives in Britain and India.

comment: whereas some searchable write up existed pre-independence the period thereafter had fewer article and write up about the princely order and to this day effort like above have been inspiring...

All those who helped running of the princely state while the young prince was at school are recognised and follow the example to list these and possibly horos these with a Wikipedia page as appropriate -- in the example below Mr Oza has page and a page likewise for E.h. Percival be charted.

  • Mr E H Percival of The Bombay Civil Service. His title ‘Joint Administrator of the State’ needs explaining. When Jaswantsingji, the Maharaja of Bhavnagar died in 1870, his son and successor Takhtsingh (1858-96) was only twelve years old, too young to handle the affairs of his state. Until 1878 when he attained his majority, his kingdom was administered by two men[4]: Gaurishankar Udayashankar (1805-1892), a senior and experienced administrator of Bhavnagar, and EH Percival of the Bombay Civil Service. Takhtsingh became a fine ruler of Bhavnagar, executing many useful projects that benefitted his subjects for a long time. https://gujarat-travels.com/tag/british-empire/
