Malay Poetry Malay poetry is an expression of thoughts and feelings of the Malay peoples of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, in the form of poetry using Malay and Indonesian languages. The term poetry here covers a wide range of poetic forms, whether it uses a controlled formula or more loose forms, such as free verses or prose poems. The word poetry itself in Indonesian and Malay languages can be translated into puisi or syair.
