edit- changing the history in a story is not a simple because you have to stick to one theme
- Wild seed is a novel with many history
"In Wild Seed , a different sort of book, My characters could be powerful enough to move somewhat outside the ugliess of antebellum U.S. history even though they live through it Their struggles is more about Male-females than Black -White" What i believe this means is that In Wild seed the history of this novel is that they struggle more for who has more powers then who and having the abilities to kept them hostage. Not being able to fight for your right didnt matter weather you are A man who strong are a women you had no rights.
Michal Bishop
edit- Butler has the power to use her ambition in writing.
- When it comes to her novel she understand the idea of science fiction idiom.
"Whose society she explicitly reveals in mind of mind and pattern master" What i believe the Quote is trying to say is the Octavia Butler she is her pattern master when it comes to writing her novel she one with that has exceptional skills she can master her skills she has control of a situation in an abstact things regarded as having power or having an influence over her novel.
ASSIGMENT 2Elizabeth A.Lynn
edit- Octavia Butler writes her novel with no sequence She goes about her story in and ordinary form
- She Make sure a reader never loses control when it comes to her writing.
- When it comes to Immortality your vision in a story can be of many different thing but must be one theme. This idea is what makes the reader more fascinated.
"Immortality , shape-changing ,psychic powers the passing of mind into many bodies these are not new ideas to the science fiction canon."The way how Butler Describes how the character uses there powers matches their characters. She doesn't lose her reader by reminding them the order that it's suppose to be told she has creative way of writing her novel without a metrical structure.

editToday in class we read the Wild Seed from wikipedia and we discuss the issues on what is good about it and was was not goo and also things that needed to be fixed. We then figure out which author from different stories did Plot, theme, characters, style, background, pub.history and reception. Within that we discuss what did they say and the connection between the themes and the wild seed story. After that we read the science fiction and fantasy by Orson Scot Card and had to indicate what was so special about Octavia Butlers writing. What makes her writing well and profound. I indicated that she uses it in a metaphorical way.
"Orson Scott Card on Butler's craft in Wild Seed."
editAccording to Orson Scott card, What i believe that he is saying is that Octavia Butler is making him question himself about the story. Orson is saying that you have to be a professional to write your own story, you have to be able to know how to create your own theme. What makes Octavia Butler good at what she does is that she know how to use her words different, metaphors. According to Orson he states that when it come to Literalism its a very impressive deal in a writers metaphor. having that strong connection gives the story a greater prospective. Octavia Butler made you have a connection while reading her story she doesn't lead you on.

Impression
editI was fascinated at the idea that Octavia did not allow anything to stop her from what she wanted to do. She took peoples negatives and used it to make herself stronger. Even though she had a disorder and it was hard for her to do things in school she kept going.Reading her bio reminds me that no matter what happens never should I give up.
