Richard L. Chandler (Rick) Athlete Rick Chandler was a multi-sport athlete and an MVP baseball player at Lindenwood University under coach Grayling Tobias formerly of the Montreal Expos. Chandler played briefly in the Minnesota Twins organization until a devastating knee injury ended his baseball career prematurely. Chandler recovered somewhat quickly from that knee injury and played for USA Hockey and later other leagues including a stint with the HNA Sabres. Injuries accumulated over an 18 year career ultimately forcing his retirement. Rick Chandler was married to Karen L. Chandler (formerly Dothage) of Columbia, Missouri. Rick and Karen first met in college and were soulmates until Karen’s untimely passing due to cancer in 2020.
