GA Reviews
You can't review articles unless you're a Reviewer as you did at Sam Mitchell. GSσяву Dιng Dσng! 18:03, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- That proposal is related to pending changes. Anyone who hasn't significantly contributed to the nominated article can perform a GA review. Frickative 18:11, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- I stand corrected :D GSσяву Dιng Dσng! 18:25, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- Has anyone worked on it yet? It's been pending for 7 days already, the time limit stated... untouched articles holding the cue up may be flagged - The nominator has been active all week...Rain the 1 BAM 17:41, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- No, nobody has touched it. Wakey wakey Mario! –anemoneprojectors– 12:26, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Shall I do it or give you a little more time Mario? GSσяву Dιng Dσng! 13:44, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- What do you mean? I've stated what is wrong and right and you just need to fix it! I thought that how it worked.. What do I have to do? Also Gsorby you cannot review it as you are the nominator. I thought that now I have stated what I need you to do to make it better you need to work on it! Also im sure User:Raintheone is agreeing with me (if not say) that the nominator (i.e. GSorby) is meant to be working on it. MayhemMario (talk) 15:04, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- GSorby - you nominated it - so why would you not work out the points raised at GA? Mario can help, but as the reviewer they have already been kind enough to give their time. So the nominator or someone heavily involved should have solved the points by now. Would have taken me ten minutes.Rain the 1 BAM 15:19, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- oh thank god! I thought tha it was my fault that it was still on hold! phew... GSorby and AP both said (in some form or other) that it was me! How do I flag it and what is it? As the article has not been touched do I put another 'on hold for seven days' thing? MayhemMario (talk) 15:22, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- I've just realised then that GSorby is not familiar with the process therefore you could extend the period on the understanding that your points will be met - now you both know where you are. If no one if bothered about correcting then it is a different story.Rain the 1 BAM 15:27, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- So add another 'On hold for seven days' thing? MayhemMario (talk) 15:29, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

- Well characters like Don are perhaps notable enough to have their own articles. But I'd encourage those conformed to lists just like him atleast have over ten source with a goal to add more until they can be split off. I'm going to work on him and Ivy in the future but have a few things I'm working on now that are getting my full attention. lol Obviously you can do whatever you like to them atm, but In the future I'm sure I will call upon you now you have offered. :PRain the 1 BAM 15:45, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

- Well if your meaning 'why do you ask' about my ast question, well, i've been meaning to do a few DYK's for a long time, and i've just got round to it and i think i've done it right, but i'm not sure. I did one for Manda Best. But was it good enough, am I allowed? MayhemMario 17:33, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- What you nominated it for Did you know? Hmm - I'm not sure you can because it already existed as a redirect in a list entry - If there is 5 times more prose than what sat in the list, it is eligible. When I do one, I pick on redirects that have a few bits and bobs on storylines and build up the real world info. Mostly a brand new character who has previously not had an article on Wikipedia. Articles like Manda, which used to exist in a stand alone article, aren't a good idea. Sorry about that, not the best news aye?Rain the 1 BAM 16:46, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, but hey ho, i've nomianted another one, though I was going to have ones for Molly Conlin,Heather Chasen and Nick Wilton which I created, though due to the 5 day rule, I cant now so i've settled for Meryl Fernandes instead. MayhemMario 15:27, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Liberty and Abi
I have an idea. It isn't Corrie or EE so I'm not sure if you will be interested.. but could you help me improve Liberty Savage and Abi Phillips ??? She is a singer shoved into the show and she may blow up big time now she is releasing her first single. Most likely i'm doing it though! I just need Heather Chasen to pass, then i prasie the lord! MayhemMario 16:42, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Liberty is the worst character in the history of the show, according to like every single person on the net. Just wish more publications would criticise her for some reception. lolRaintheOne BAM 12:45, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- ;) Right, im going to give you them now, got nothing else to do, also Dotty passed GA! All that work for trying to split her off, and now she a GA! WOOO! :) Right here are the things i need to go over:
- The Liverpool Echo described Liberty as being the "girl-next-door".[6] Isn't this pointless?
- Vye says that "[Totally]. I just dont understand this
- The family set up camp in their back yard however afte'r' Myra discovers Dodger killed her pet lamb for food. Theres no ending to this, i dont watch holyloaks so dont now what happens. MayhemMario 13:51, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Delete the Totally from Vye's quote. The Echo comment can be combined to characterisation in a better way perhaps. Right storyline help. Basically Liberty after Lamb chop was killed, so her father Dirk butters Myra up, who then forgives and agrees to let them stay. Liberty moves into theresa's room, the Savage lads all live in a caravan in the McQueen garden.RaintheOne BAM 13:39, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

- Yeah that is right, she wants them out, but he sweet talks her. Myra loved her little lamb shop and let it in the house for comfy time. Mostly she lived in the garden ruining her flower beds.RaintheOne BAM 22:40, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

DYK problem with Manda Best, maybe submit to GA instead
I reviewed your submission to DYK here. Unfortunately DYK is for new articles and new expansions (content created in the past 5 days), so the article is not eligible by our rules. Because it is a good article, you might submit it instead to WP:GA. Sharktopustalk 16:46, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Joshua Pascoe
Hi, I just saw that Joshua Pascoe is on your to-do list for creation. So I thought I'd let you know that the chances of this being created are incredibly slim since he's only had one acting role. An actor needs multiple, significant roles to pass Wikipedia's notability guidelines for actors. So the AFD (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joshua Pascoe) is likely to stand, regardless of what personal life you can come up with. Just wanted you to know this. –anemoneprojectors– 18:27, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, i think it was yesterday, I typed in 'joshua Pasoce' and saw that he only has ppeared in EastEnders and thought, 'bum'. It didnt really cross my mind to delete it off my To-Do-List to be perfectly honest, but thanks for reminding me. MayhemMario 19:34, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- What's next for EastEnders articles? What shoulD we do next? What characters should be split off? MayhemMario 19:34, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Mia McKenna Bruce has been deleted four times before! Though for different reasons and you might be lucky. Umm the idea isn't to just think "what should we split off next". We just split them when we feel they need splitting. Anyway, we only said earlier today that Yusef was most likely to be the next to be split off. –anemoneprojectors– 19:24, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hm... Yes I see.... And you deleted one of the revisions of it... Is there anyway I can see the old revisions? Oh yes, I forgot about thta discussion!MayhemMario 20:30, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Not if a revision has been removed from the public archives. The only people that can see them are us admins.--5 albert square (talk) 22:46, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- The article said nothing more than her name, unreferenced date of birth and what she's known for, followed by a list of appearances, all but one of which were minor. And what's with using symbols instead of words? –anemoneprojectors– 22:57, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Ap, I told you here ;) And thanks, so I cant see it unless i'm an admin? Right. am I correct? MayhemMario 17:36, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, you can only see deleted pages if you're an admin. And I know you told me what the symbols mean, but why not just say what you think like normal people instead of making us all refer to another page to find out? –anemoneprojectors– 17:31, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm just asking if it is or not, is it relaible or not, just want to no, thanks! [2] MayhemMario 17:10, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- No, it does not appear to meet the reliable source criteria. If you're looking for coverage about a specific topic, let me know, and I can see what reliable sources I can find for it. Erik (talk | contribs) 16:12, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm looking for Heather Chasen. Most of the sources are nto reliable and both, [3] and [4] both state she has a son though both are non-reliable. MayhemMario 17:34, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- Is this reliale? [5]MayhemMario 17:36, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- This is the company, so it seems like it. It's not a pretty website, but I assume that they're authoritative in providing these bios. I did a search engine test, and there isn't a lot of information available online. Anything about her might be mostly in print. If you can, try to search subscription-only databases for some coverage. Erik (talk | contribs) 16:42, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- Another one: [6]? Thanks for this.]MayhemMario 17:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- And another :) [7] MayhemMario 17:56, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- For Navy Lark, the website itself is not authoritative, but it looks like the information comes from the Navy Lark box sets. That could be something to follow up on. As for vintagebritishcomedy.co.uk, I can't find anything on the website that would suggest any kind of authority (in the author or the publisher), so probably not reliable. Erik (talk | contribs) 16:58, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- And another :) [7] MayhemMario 17:56, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- So for the Navy Lark one now, what shall I do? MayhemMario 18:01, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- You could trust the web page's content but cite the box sets directly. I think people mistrust sources like this that seem to reprint content that is valid but not normally accessible, as it may not be the same thing. I doubt that there's anything questionable about the bios, though. You could cite the box sets but explain on the talk page that you used the web page itself for the details. Erik (talk | contribs) 17:20, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
There is a {{Cite album-notes}} template. You can use the following: The Navy Lark Collection (Media notes). BBC Audiobooks Ltd. {{cite AV media notes}}

requires |url=

- I know this sounds really lazy, but could you do it for me? I just think that it's better for someone who knows what there doing to do it rather than someone who knows naff all. MayhemMario 16:10, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Just asking, can we use this image [8]?MayhemMario 16:17, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- I messaged the copyright holder of the Flickr photo. For the photo you mentioned, it is copyrighted, and we're supposed to use freely licensed photos of living persons whenever possible. The Flickr photo is one such possibility. Erik (talk | contribs) 16:43, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- So we can use [9] but we cant use [10]? MayhemMario 15:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Here's another one, is this reliable and what is the publisher? [11] MayhemMario 10:45, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- With Flickr, we can request for the copyright holder of a copyrighted image to change the license to Creative Commons. For example, here under "License", it says, "Some rights reserved." If you click on that, it will point to the CC license page. So here, it says, "All Rights Reserved" when we want it to be re-licensed and say "Some rights reserved" and point to the CC license page. That Chasen image appears to be the holder's own, where I think it's likely that the millatsonning.com image probably belongs to a copyright holder outside of whoever runs the website. I've been in touch with the copyright holder of the Chasen image and explained to him how to revise the license. Still waiting for him to do that. Erik (talk | contribs) 15:02, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, keep me updated ;) So we cant use [12]? MayhemMario 16:17, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- Right, it's a copyrighted image with very little likelihood of being re-licensed. That's why we're trying for the Flickr one since it could be re-licensed. Unfortunately, it's the only one on Flickr as far as I can tell. Erik (talk | contribs) 15:21, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Meryl Fernandes
On 23 June 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Meryl Fernandes, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Meryl Fernandes, who plays Afia Khan in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played a schoolgirl extra in 1993? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Whitelist SuggestBot?
Hi, I noticed you've signed up to get suggestions regularly, thanks for doing so! Since SuggestBot supports {{nobots}} we're currently not sending you any suggestions. Could you please add it to your whitelist? Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 17:28, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I think I did it right, i added {{nobots}} to the top of my talk page, am i correct? MayhemMario 16:18, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- The fourth template on your talk page was {{nobots|allow=SineBot}}. To whitelist another bot, just add the bot's name to the list of allowed bots, which I just did (so it's {{nobots|allow=SineBot,SuggestBot}}). Hope that's OK. Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 15:32, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Noticed that SuggestBot still didn't want to post to your user talk page. After some digging around, it turns out that the template should've been {{bots|allow=SineBot,SuggestBot}} to only allow specific bots, instead of {{nobots| … }}, so I've corrected the template again. You should then get your first set of suggestions when the update runs tomorrow. Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 21:49, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

- Dont know how to! I know this is quite sneaky, but could you? ;) MayhemMario 18:46, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Totally archived yeh stuff! Yup so, essentially it consists of creating a subclass userpage, just type "User:MayhemMario/Archive n" (n is the number of archives in) into the search bar and then click the redlink to create the page and pull all your stuff out of the talk page at the moment, and place it in there with a {{talkarchive}} template to the top, save and you're golden. Oh and I've put an archive box to the top of your talk page, you can remove it for something better if you like. That Ole Cheesy Dude (Talk to the hand!) 19:19, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

by the way thanks for fixing my EastEnders template I must get a few more of them my user page looks very plain:L Crazyfishsticks (talk) 15:29, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I dont really know the whole situation. I think that some users in this project think that your another user which was on Wikipedia and suspect you of Wikipedia:Sockpuppeting. But you should talk to the users who suspect you, which I think was Frickative and RaintheOne BAM. MayhemMario 15:38, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

- Well, your adding ones which dont exist. If you go to:Wikipedia:Userboxes/Gallery it shows all the userboxes you could ever want, so click on one say for example:
- Wikipedia:Userboxes/Military, for military affiliation and ranks
and scroll down and just copy and paste the code for a userbox onto your page! Easy1 Hope i helped! Any more questions (im really, really dont mind) :) MayhemMario 16:03, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Also regarding the images from eastEnders 2011, the image of Lydia you deleted, does the image show how one actress portrayed it if we had pictures of the two actresses which played Lydia? MayhemMario 19:42, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I understand your question? If you mean having a side by side comparison of File:Lydia Simmonds (Heather Chasen).jpg and someone else who portrayed the role, it might be possible to include it IFF there were secondary sourced discussion regarding the visual depictions of the characters by the different actresses. Does that answer the question? --Hammersoft (talk) 19:52, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Hey - You've probably noticed Crazyfishsticks has been blocked. In future please don't encourage an absusive editor like him or help him gain momentum. DYK missed
I noticed that you had a problem with a DYK. That happened to me, too. In such cases a create a related article and mention the one I really mean. Might that work for you as well? The articles linked on the Main page get attention, bold or not, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:45, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, i dont egt what you mean. MayhemMario 12:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I mean write a new article, for which a hook mentions the other one that didn't make it. Example: I want to mention a Bach cantata that I can't possibly expand 5*, then I write on a singer who sings that cantata. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:44, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- So for me i would try and expand Josie Lawrence who played Manda and then do a DYK for her, but using the one I used for Manda?? MayhemMario 14:14, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I know too little about the topic, sorry, but assume it's a person playing a character, you could say just that, not the same hook you had for the character, but one for the actress with Manda linked, - people will click both, promised, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:30, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Z CARS / DIXON OF DOCK GREEN
I constructed the original cast list lists for Z CARS / DIXON OF DOCK GREEN. This took many hours of time and research. This list is made up of actors and actresses that appeared as regulars and semi-regulars in the shows. It should not include someone who happened to appear in one or two episodes in a guest roles.
- Hi, Did you create the cast list? Well Heather Chasen should appear in it as in Dixon of Dock Green she is in others, which is for guest characters, ect, regualrs and semis appear in the first part of the cast list. In Z Cars she is able to be in it as once again is in 'others' aswell a sappearing in 2 eps, other people in that others section have only appeared for 4 eps. Please do not edit this page again by deleting Chasen, otherwise you will be blocked, which is a shame. Can I ask are/were you a registered user on Wikipedia? MayhemMario 15:49, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Elisabeth Croft
On 30 July 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Elisabeth Croft, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that actress Elisabeth Croft, who played Miss Edith Tatum in the soap opera Crossroads, died the same day the renewed series of Crossroads aired in 2003? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
