editLieutenant Alexandre Bodin, (born November 13, 1979) is a Special Operations Officer in the Special Operations Branch of the Intelligence and Special Operations Service (ISOS), the European Union's ultra-covert intelligence agency within the External Action Service.

editAlex Bodin was born on November 13, 1979, in Marmande, France.
Hobbies
editBodin was a very good all-round athlete in Running; Swimming; and Skiing at school, as well as Shooting in La Chasse with his Father, he continued these activities into adulthood. Additionally he qualified as a Yachtmaster, and attained the Brown Sash in Wing Chun Kung Fu gaining proficiency in Biu Tze.

editAfter graduating, Bodin volunteered to join the Foreign Legion. He passed the recruitment process at Aubagne and was sent to join 4th Foreign Regiment at Castelnaudary to undertake basic training.
2e Régiment Étranger de Parachutistes (2e REP)
editHaving excelled during his basic training, Bodin was invited to take the selection course, Promo Parachutiste, at Camp Rafalli in Corsica to join the 2e Régiment de Parachutistes (2e REP). After successfully completing the four week course he was issued with his basic parachutist badge.
4e Compagnie (4e CIE), 2e REP
editAs a result of Bodin's test of physical strength and resilience throughout all of his training he was posted to 4th Company (4e CIE). Here he went on to complete the demolitions and specialist warfare training at the Commando Training Centres: Centre d'entraînement commando d'Arta Plage (CECAP) in Arta, Djibouti; Centre d'entraînement commando Guyane in Régina, French Guiana; and Centre national d'entraînement commando (CNEC) in Mont-Louis, France.
Compagnie d'Éclairage et d'Appui (CEA), 2e REP
editDuring Basic Training Bodin acquired marksman scores in each of his weapons firing exercises gaining the 'excellent shooter' certificate. He was recognised as such and underwent the Tireur de Precision (sharpshooter) and Tireur d'Élite (Advanced) Sniper training. Bodin's superiors decided he would be put to better use if he was transferred from 4e CIE to the Reconnaissance & Support Company. It was initially thought he would join the Section de tireurs d'élite (STE) as a sniper but because of his Commando training he was instead moved to the Pathfinder section.
