I am a professional Engineering Geologist, qualified at the the University of Southampton (BSc) and the University of Brighton (MSc). I was born and raised in the Weald of Sussex, England and became interested in palaeontology from a young age. This interest developed into an more general interest in geology, which I continued throughout my education to postgraduate level, where I studied Applied Geology.
Since entering the engineering geology profession, my geological knowledge has developed through project work throughout England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and further abroad. The majority of my project work has been in the southeast of England and has given me detailed knowledge of the region's geology, dating back to the Jurassic Period through the Cretaceous and Tertiary to recent. I am particularly interested in the geology of the Weald of Sussex and Kent, the North and South Downs and the Jurassic Coast of Dorset and Devon.
