The Basement of Cryptoportica is an independent nation located in the basement of a house in Bethesda, MD, USA. It declared independence on February 21, 2009 and, as of yet, has not been recognized by any nation. In September, 2009, The Basement of Cryptoprtica has fell into a state of Anarchy, with Grand Vyzier Jordan Cahn taking temporary control over the country. It remained in disorder until late February 2010, when Grand Vyzier Cahn reaffirmed the Constitution with along with more democratic government reforms, rejuvenating the failing nation.
