My Wiki interest is a narrow focus on the Battleship Texas. I am an expert on the history of Battleship Texas (thought no one can know all aspects). Aside from the National Archives and the ship's current administrators (Texas Parks and Wildlife Department) I have the largest collection of BB35 historic documents, drawings and photos. I even have documents that TPWD does not have (though I provided them with copies of some documents, both paper and digital formats).
My interest in the Wiki article is presently to correct the huge quantity of specific factual errors (time, date, geographical location, names etc). For decades, secondary sources have created errors which have been prepetuated by other sources. This chain of errors has resulted in a BB35 article full of errors. Though the Wiki creed is verifiablity, my interest is truth.
Using primary sources, I created the most extensive BB35 internet (until July 2007, when I no longer wanted to continue paying the expense). The site contained scans of thousands of primary source documents (drawings, paper and photos). (I did not use secondary sources, even DANFS). The site contained data found no where else. I also mapped the ship's complete movement history with a vector mapping program. I scanned over 2,000 photos. This is only part of my BB35 activity.
I have not decided if I will expand the article with additional information after the corrections are made
