The following are articles that I'd be happy to see chosen for TFA any time, generally because a) the subject is particularly interesting to me and may be so to others, b) I've already ensured that all formatting, links, style conventions, etc, are reasonably up-to-date, and c) they appear to me to be even less vandal-prone than most of 'my' articles:
Jerry Pentland-- one of the highest-scoring Australian aces of World War I who also flew in World War II, and quite a 'character'; recommend File:PentlandRFC.jpg as the blurb image.Oswald Watt-- another World War I flyer and leader, whose name lives on in the Oswald Watt Gold Medal for achievements in aviation; happy with infobox image for blurb, or File:Watt1914-16.jpg as an alternative, especially since it's in his French uniform.No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit RAAF-- very recent FA, and a bit different as my first on a military unit; imagebox crest is fair-use so suggest File:RAAF FA-18B 2011.jpg as blurb image, since it's current hardware.William Brill-- one the least-famous subjects I've ever chosen but a truly action-packed wartime career, and one article I've always been unduly pleased with in terms of prose.No. 33 Squadron RAAF-- recent promotion focussing on the RAAF's sole air-to-air refuelling unit; take your pick of the images in the main body.No. 34 Squadron RAAF-- another recent promotion, this one being about the RAAF's VIP squadron; suggest File:Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604, Australia - Air Force AN0564834.jpg as the most appropriate image.Elwyn Roy King-- very recent promotion of another World War I fighter ace article.No. 1 Flying Training School RAAF-- another very recent promotion; imagebox crest is fair-use so suggest File:P00448.005Avro504K1926.jpg or File:RoseWapiti1FTS1938.jpg as blurb image (yes, I have a vested interest in the latter but I think it's an appropriate pic by any standard!)... Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 14:14, 2 June 2014 (UTC)- Hector Waller -- in contrast to William Brill above, Waller is one of the most famous subjects I've worked on. Bench wanted to run this as TFA a while ago but it had too many dead links for me to update at the time; these have since been fixed, thanks in part to DrKiernan's efforts.
Roy Phillipps-- another World War I ace, recently promoted, with two good PD images to choose from, the infobox portrait or the one with his kid.No. 77 Squadron RAAF-- another recent squadron promotion; several PD images to choose from, but one from the Korean War section is probably most appropriate.
Note that a couple of the above would be particularly appropriate for 2014–18 as they focus heavily on World War I in its centenary period.
