Professor Karel Kuchař is a theoretical physicist at the University of Utah. His research interests are in quantum gravity, especially the canonical approach to general relativity known as geometrodynamics. He has written influential papers on the problem of time in quantum gravity, on the constraint algebra in diffeomorphism invariant theories, and on the geometrodynamics of black holes.
