Eubot edits taxoboxes to remove the "color" parameter. This has been made obsolete for most taxoboxes by some clever template programming. In the most common cases (e.g. plants, animals), a taxobox can now select the correct color automatically, but the color parameter overrides the automatic choice. I remove this parameter in these cases for two reasons: 1) it often is edited unwisely (see e.g. Template_talk:Taxobox/Archive_6#color_parameter); 2) we may want to change the color for the animal kingdom (see Wikipedia talk:Taxobox usage#Another color for animal-taxobox?).
See the Bot Approval Request.
At first, I'm only doing the animals, color = pink, regnum = [[Animalia]] or [[Animal]]ia (these are the exact conditions how the taxobox template will recognize animals.
The only thing that this bot does is to remove a single taxobox parameter. If you see a diff that has any other changes, or if the taxobox is no longer pink after Eubot's edit, that means that there is a bug. Let me know immediately so that I can remove the bug and repair the affected articles. Eugène van der Pijll (talk) 13:47, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Animals nearly done; I'm now starting on the plants ('lightgreen'). -- Eugène van der Pijll (talk) 15:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
