Ed Welter is a crayon historian and collector, among other things. Ed rewrote the crayon article to reflect a more accurate history (there was originally only information on Crayola there) and is one of the principal co-authors on the Crayola article and the List of Crayola crayon colors article.
With a personal crayon collection that exceeds 3,000 crayon boxes dating back to the late 1800s, Ed is one of the only historical authorities on crayons and crayon history. He maintains a research and collection web site with more detailed information than is kept on Wikipedia related to the subject of crayons for those that wish to further research the subject.
