Before I retired, I worked as a psychometrician and, later, as a career development professional specializing in the evaluation and application of standardized tests and other assessment tools in career exploration and planning. I have graduate degrees in both psychometric methods and counseling psychology, and I spent more than 20 years working on high-stakes testing programs as a project manager and as a test development & evaluation specialist in the United States. I also managed various learner assessment programs for a state college that services adult learners, including programs to grant college credit by challenge examination, self-study, and e-portfolio-based prior learning assessment. I have also taught graduate-level courses in introductory research methods, introductory statistics, and measurement & evaluation.
