My name is Ray Joseph Cormier but known simply as Ray. On April 19, my best friend told me to Google his son's name in relation to sports. The first six pages were exclusively on him. Beauty! I then Googled my own name for the first time and came to my BLP in Wikipedia started over two years ago by someone I met casually once.
Having been like Jonah in the whale [[1]] for some time, discovering it was like a call to return to active duty. Some will notice in my user name, Cana, which is inspired by the Marriage at Cana when Jesus began his Public Life by turning water into wine described in John II. [[2]]
As the creator of this article, Earl Andrew, a Wikipedia Administrator, stated in the Discussion section we met when I was just on a job with my van for hire. There were three volunteers with election signs and tools to plant them throughout the riding during the 2006 General Election in Canada.
It was natural to share with them my experience as an Independent running for Parliament. Earl took it upon himself to research my talk and confirmed it by creating the article. Although we have spoken on the telephone and exchanged e-mail, we have not met and I have no idea who he is of the three.
I came into this world in Montreal at 8am Sunday, May 21, 1944, living in a poor English part of Montreal as compared to the rich English in French Quebec living on Mount Royal. I didn't realize my mother and three older sisters subsisted at the bottom of the economic pyramid until TV arrived for the first time when I was 12. That was the biggest thing to affect our culture since WWII and I was the last kid on the block to get one. Soon later I realized French was the majority language in Quebec.
