Away from Wikipedia, I am a professional copywriter and journalist, specialising primarily on the UK energy and sustainability sector as well as global oil market commentary. I also maintain a blog covering the supernatural, macabre and morbid, but don't link it to my Wikipedia account. I originally studied as a historian, specialising in British military history. I do not currently work for any clients that have a Wikipedia page or a particular interest in any Wikipedia content, although if that changes I will disclose as such here.
Aside from the supernatural, particularly in the North West of England, and some military history topics, I have an interest and some experience across a number of other topics, particularly my home county of Lancashire, as well as British flora and fauna, alternative energy and sustainability, bookmaking/sports betting and market analysis.
I have previously worked in public relations and have an eye for the common turns of phrase, puffery and peacock phrases that are a giveaway that content has been written by a PR agency or marketing staff and will flag it up or edit it out whenever I come across it.
This is for your valuable efforts for countering Vandalism and protecting Wikipedia from it's threats. I appreciate your effort. You are a defender of Wikipedia. Thank you. PATHSLOPU 10:43, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
