Thanks for visiting my User Page.
Who is Cityside189? You're not alone in asking. In fact some people want to know "who was Cityside189"?
I joined Wikipedia in August, 2015, while on break from work. I started first as an IP user (24.92.249.215) to fix things up around here and establishing a named account days later. I got in trouble quickly by not knowing the depth of character of the users/community here, and by underestimating the strength of the culture. Out of that relative incompetence, I was idiosnycratic in my editing and was basically a dick. My first (and hopefully only block) made my desire participate stronger, mostly because when I am wrong I do try to admit it promptly, and to make amends when appropriate. But it sometimes takes me a while with my hard head.
I practice psychology (mostly forensic), have done academic research a long time ago, and have been in more courtrooms than I care to remember as a witness for the attorney general's office in criminal matters. As a stress relief I do some technical gardening with hard to grow plants like blueberries, (though I am also partial to impatiens and petunias). If that's not enough, I have a very old house (from 1910) and thus have also learned to repair stone/masonry projects, fix leaky plumbing, re-do minor electrical circuits, and patch roofing. So you may see me editing in those areas down the line.
I really am trying hard to learn the ropes here, and I like the mental challenge. And even though I started off on the wrong foot, I enjoy the nice people who have reached out a hand of support and guidance. My rule of thumb now is to treat everyone, regardless of tenure, just like I would treat a judge in a courtroom. If you notice me not doing this, I'd appreciate a heads up. It's possible I will edit while up too late, or after a hard day at work, and I'm not at my best during those times.
