About Me
editI am a Museum Studies [1] Master's student at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)[2] in Richard McCoy's Collections Care and Management class. I will be contributing to Wikipedia as a student and museum professional as part of the Wikipedia Saves Public Art (WSPA) initiative. We will be cataloging the artworks at the Indiana Statehouse (Capitol) for our project this semester. I will also be contributing to the development of the Wikipedia article for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, where I am currently employed as a Gallery Facilitator under Tessa Bridal.[3]
Interests
editI am an artist, a writer, a singer and a student of life. I am interested in travel, I have been to England, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands,France, Switzerland, Canada and Mexico. I would very much like to visit Africa or South America in the next few years. I am always interested in exploring domestically as well. I have been to most of the continental United States, be with the exception of the Northern plain states and a few East Coast states. To begin to remedy this I am thinking about planning a trip to the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina this Christmas.(I have only ever been to an airport in North Carolina for a lay over, I don't think that counts) I did my undergrad at Indiana University and studied Art History with a minor in Studio Art. My favorite art comes from the pre-Columbian period.{1}I also enjoy 19th century European art, mostly Romanticism and works by Edouard Manet. I love music and have long been passionate about a wide variety of musical genres. My favorite band is The Arcade Fire, but I am just as likely to be listening to Irish folk songs or showtunes or Electronica or Grind Core or bluegrass depending on my mood.
