Hello! My name is Brandon Rhea. I am VP of Community at Fandom. I’ve been editing wikis since 2006, when I began contributing stories to Star Wars Fanon wiki on Fandom (though at the time it was called Wikia). I became an admin there for several years and have contributed to Wookieepedia as well. In 2010, Sannse on Wikia’s Community Support team asked me if I wanted to get paid to answer support emails for ten hours every week. I was in college at the time and it was a website I really enjoyed being part of, so I said sure!
After college I started full time as a community manager. After six years of community management, I led Fandom’s Featured Video team (yeah, I know) for about a year before I took over all communication with our creator community. After Fandom acquired Curse Media at the end of 2018, I helped launch the newly merged community teams and oversaw the community verticals that supported Movies, TV, and Anime communities on Fandom, as well as our Customer Support team. I fully took over leadership of the entire community team in 2020, and revamped it with new structures that we use today.
It’s an exciting line of work and there’s never a dull moment!
