Cherry Credits is an online game operator for South East Asia and payment service provider for games, content and services. Its scratch cards are distributed in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia, with 100,000 distribution points worldwide[1].
The company is a subsidiary of Shanda Games International.[2]
History
editCherry Credits was established in Singapore in 2007 by Addison Kang, former CEO of AsiaSoft Online[3]. It positioned itself as a micropayment payment service provider targeting teenagers and young adults who do not possess credit cards.[4][5][6] Companies offering their products and services on Cherry Credits include MoVend[7] and GamesCampus[8].
In 2011, Cherry Credits partnered with games publisher Shanda Games International to release online game Dragon Nest in South East Asia[9][10], and SD Gundam Online in 2012[11].
Cherry Credits later evolved into a game publisher for AvatarStar in 2013.[12]
