Moore co-wrote all 12 tracks on This Is My Dirt, and it was produced by longtime collaborators Scott Borchetta and Jeremy Stover.[1] It marks the first record Moore has utilized his band instead of studio musicians, and the album features collaborations with Randy Houser, Blake Shelton, and Dierks Bentley.[1]

The album's title track was released as the lead single on November 17, 2023.[2] It reached a peak of number 4 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.[3] "Time's Ticking" will be released on November 11, 2024, as the album's second single.[4] Originally a collaboration with Dierks Bentley, a solo version was issued for the radio release.[5]
