History

edit

Formed in July 2015 after auditions and scouting, based on the concept of having idols sing lyrics with contemporary funk, R&B, and philosophical backgrounds. The group performed under the name "Funky But Chic".

During the time of the original four-member group, they called themselves the "Best Four" and released a song with the same name in the hopes of being the best four-member unit.

In 2022, the group held a "mid-career audition" for new members to join the group following the graduation of one of the original four members. Two new members were selected by the Best Four themselves, and the current five-member group was formed.

The group aims to transcend the framework of idols and become a group loved by all music fans.

The group's name is a tribute to Alejandro Jodorowsky's film "Dance of Reality" and The Shaggs' "Philosophy of the World".[4]

It is produced by Keitaro Kamo, who has produced Wolfles, Kishidan, Number Girl, Base Ball Bear, and others. Kamo also serves as manager, so called "management. After joining Sony Music Entertainment (SME), he signed a management contract with SME.[5][6]

In 2020, she made her major label debut with Sony Music Labels.[7]
