Template talk:World of Darkness
Requiem
editI think there should be separate boxes for the old-line games (Masquerade, Dark Ages, Victorian Ages, Kindred of the East, Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom) and the new-line games (currently Requiem, soon to include Rome). There's so little overlap that the current box is more confusing than anything else, especially when placed on Requiem pages. If anything, a shared sidebar would be more appropriate for Requiem and Werewolf: the Forsaken than for Requiem and Masquerade. 208.54.95.1 21:48, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- I could support this being done if the "line" part of the box (Masquerade, Dark Ages, Victorian Ages, Kindred of the East, Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom... etc) were given its own nav-box, then the line/version specific aspects of vampirism could be divided up appropriately into your suggested boxes. Wassail
editUm, what has Wassailing or Wassail got to do with the world of darkness vampires or vampirism in general? It is off topic and needs to be removed. Obscuromancer 19:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- in the oWoD a vampire who has fallen to permenant frenzy has succumb to Wassail. In the nWoD the three types of frenzy are Rötschreck (fear), Frenzy (anger), and Wassail (hunger) (in the nWoD, a permenantly frenzied kindred is Drugar). Darker Dreams 19:56, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Okay Did Some Serious Clean Up
editThe template was needlessly divided into sections, especially since almost everything in each section linked to the same article. I removed all the links that lead to the same article (which ended up removing around 90% of the template's length), and instead labeled a general link like concepts or settings. Nothing was removed, just better organized. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flygongengar (talk • contribs) 04:54, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Written fiction/books
edit@Soetermans: I've had a hard time coming up with a good label for that grouping for a while, that is not overly long but does not overlap with the others, and something like "novels" doesn't work as Revelations of the Dark Mother is a poem (and there are also anthologies that likely pass WP:GNG, that just haven't been written about yet). I agree that "written fiction" doesn't really work for this, but "books" overlaps with the TTRPGs and TTRPG supplements, since they are published as books. Do you have any ideas for how to handle this?--AlexandraIDV 11:17, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Alexandra IDV, that's true. Does 'literature' work? I thought about 'print media', but then we run into the same problem. I think with literature, there's no confusion between tabletop role-playing game material. Thoughts? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 07:55, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- That might work. It's such a weird situation, since the two so clearly are different things.--AlexandraIDV 12:35, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
