Should this template (a modified version of the political party infobox) be used on US political party pages? RiverMan18 (talk) 14:57, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- This template is a modified version of the infobox political party template which emphasizes the political party color more. It was created following an earlier RFC about political party disc logos which can be found here in which the general consensus was to remove the disc logos (symbols based on a common template used to identify parties which were almost all unofficial and created by editors, not the parties themselves).
- One of the things that I took away from that RFC was that political party color might be a better way to identify parties in a “standard” way instead of the election discs. This template is the result—it emphasizes party color more than the previous template, as can be seen here. (I’m sorry that no documentation is currently up).
- Yes, I probably shouldn’t have made this page—I’m sorry. The reason it exists in a space that is not a sandbox is because I put the template up on minor political party pages earlier, but removed them after an editor informed me that I should seek a consensus before putting them up. I’m sorry—I’m still relatively new to Wikipedia.
- A secondary question for this RFC is this: Should political party color be emphasized more (ex. in election pages) to identify political parties? (For example, we could place the party name in election ticket tables in a fully colored table cell, with the text color adjusted to make it more legible).
