Template talk:Governors of California

Format

I tightened the formatting by following the Template:Governors of Massachusetts, but I kept the flags, moving them to the right of the sub-section headings. It looks much neater now. Wyeson 00:24, 11 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

And I reverted it because the formatting was broken. The lists were no longer a list and the images overlapped the header texts. Do NOT reinstate before fixing any issues. Use the sandbox for that. -- [[User:Edokter]] {{talk}} 16:00, 11 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The "Republic of California" never existed. Col. Fremont was court-martialed for allowing American citizens to raise the "Bear Flag". Commissioned officers of the U.S. Army and Navy served as military governors during California's occupation from July 1846 until the installation of a civil governor, following the constitutional convention at Monterey, in December 1849. Getting real

There was no "sovereignty". There was no "republic". Simplified/clarified section titles. WCCasey (talk) 06:22, 21 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
