Noting interim coaches
editUser:Corkythehornetfan added the interim tagging that we use on school coach templates (see here) to note that David Padgett is interim at Louisville. We have not historically done this and my position is that the template is dynamic and lists the ‘’’current’’’ coaches of record anyway, so it is a little irrelevant to list this and clogs up the template to add it. What is consensus? Rikster2 (talk) 17:44, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
- Time to update it. We need to establish the difference between interim and actual head coaches. BTW, Louisville has an Acting head coach. He isn't the permanent HC. There is a difference. Corky Buzz by the Hornet's Nest 19:27, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
- I can see both arguments. I think it has to be more of a case-by-case basis. In the Padgett situation, he should be marked as interim because the school has a head coach and he is not the head coach. However, I think for a school that has fired their head coach and named an interim coach (for the year usually) should be listed without the interim coach a la Maurice Joseph last year. - Either way we do this, the good thing is that it's not technically incorrect. I would just say don't mark interim for simplicity. Navboxes are to navigate to other subject's, so I'd err on the side of eliminating the other informational aspects inasmuch as possible.—Bagumba (talk) 07:54, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
Rant: That pesky and unnecessary "pound sign" verbage still exists, when just showing "#" is sufficient, esp. when £ is pound sign.—Bagumba (talk) 07:54, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
