Due to a server limit of 500 "expensive parser function" calls (e.g. #ifexist:, PAGESIZE:, and PAGESINCATEGORY:), this template will only work properly if the page using it has not already exceeded the limit. When the limit is exceeded, the page using this template or module is categorised in Category:Pages with too many expensive parser function calls. (further information) |
This template renders an icon of a yacht club's burgee before the link to the yacht club's article.
A full list of yacht clubs within this template can be seen List of yacht clubs although there are so many sailing/yacht clubs the only sensible way to list all yacht clubs is by categories the template does work with yacht club without a burgee or pages and will automatically update when they are added as illustrated below.Examples
{{yachtclub|Royal Yacht Squadron}}
→ Royal Yacht Squadron{{yachtclub|San Diego Yacht Club}}
→ San Diego Yacht Club
For a Yacht Club without a page
{{yachtclub|Austin Yacht Club}}
→ Austin Yacht Club
For a Yacht Club without a Burgee Graphic
{{yachtclub|Royal Brighton Yacht Club}}
→ Royal Brighton Yacht Club
For a Yacht Club without a page or Burgee Graphic
{{yachtclub|Wikipedia Sailing Club}}
→ Wikipedia Sailing Club
Expensive Parser Function Calls
This template ALWAYS calls #ifexist
, which is an expensive parser function (see WP:EXPENSIVE). If this template is used too many times on a single page it will eventually break (eventually making #ifexist
always return false after the first 500 calls).
If you're reading this and the template has already broken on the page it's being used on which it already has in List of yacht clubs, you might want to consider removing the #ifexist
.
