When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:
This page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect:
|
- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information, see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From a hashtag: This is a redirect from a hashtag widely associated with the target.
- This redirect leads to a more widely used title that is not a hashtag. Replace redirected links with a piped link if the hashtag is not widely accepted as the topic's conventional title.
- The correct title of this article is Template:#R from hashtag. The omission of the # is due to technical restrictions.
This template should not be substituted nor used to tag soft redirects. |
Usage
edit- This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Redirects from hashtags. Since Category:Redirects from hashtags is a subcategory of Category:Redirects due to technical restrictions this template and {{R restricted}} should not be used together.
- Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:
#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from hashtag}}
}}
- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]
{{R from hashtag}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.
- The template automatically finds the correct title. If the page title starts with U+FE5F ﹟ SMALL NUMBER SIGN or U+FF03 # FULLWIDTH NUMBER SIGN, the # is considered substituted, otherwise, it is considered missing. Compare SaveRahaf with #SaveRahaf for an example.
- Generally, the instructions at TM:R restricted/doc should be followed. So, for example, when the redirect is in article mainspace, printworthiness should also be tagged and, if the hashtag is the correct title of the landing page, the {{Correct title}} template should be used as a hatnote there.
