This is a documentation subpage for Template:Morse. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
The purpose of this template is to produce a rendering of Morse code characters. It is capable of rendering the different timings of American Morse code as well as the standard International Morse code. The template can produce any character or prosign with up to ten symbols (including the word boundary symbol). A suitable space for letter boundaries is automatically inserted. A new call to the template should be made for each letter or prosign in a sequence.
Usage
editAll parameters can take on the following values:
dot
produces a one unit dot, ▄dash
produces a three unit dash, ▄▄▄adash
produces a two unit dash (American morse dash) ▄▄aspace
produces a two unit space (American morse inter-element long space)
Additionally, the first parameter can also take on the following values
word
produces spacing suitable for a word boundaryldash
produces a four unit dash for the American morse "L" symbol, ▄▄▄▄zerodash
produces the very long dash for the American and Continental morse zero symbol, ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄- The
ldash
andzerodash
may also be used as the second parameter if the first parameter is required for a word boundary.
Each invocation of the template is preceded by two spaces to provide the correct timing for inter-character spacing. When the template is used at the beginning of a paragraph this will appear as an indent of the first line of the paragraph. These spaces can be suppressed if desired by using |noindent=yes
.
