This template is used by registered users reviewing articles submitted through the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process. Once an article submission has been reviewed, this template should be placed on the talk page of the user that submitted the article, to inform them that their article has been denied, and to encourage them to fix the article, and keep contributing to Wikipedia. This template must be substed.

Warning for users of this template
editPlease ensure, when you use this template, that it has linked to the correct location of the draft, and if not please correct it. A problem when applying the template in respect of user sandbox or subpages is identified at Template talk:Afc decline#Wrong draft location. The link tends to be correct in the message header but not in the body of the message.
Sometimes users will change their username after submitting a draft (especially in the case of new users with usernames that violate the username policy). If you use a tool such as AFCH to place this template, make sure that it doesn't get placed on a redirect page.
