Bibliography
editI had a chess manual as a kid by Yuri Averbakh called "Voyage to the kingdom of chess" or something like that. Very kid-friendly, with florid and poetic language. I can't afford the time to research right now, though. --200.20.164.2 (talk) 16:01, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Comment
editIt doesn't seem apparent from the bio that he's categorizable as a "jewish chess player" - he's what, like 1/4 jewish? I'm not really familiar with the definitions on these matters though. Apologies in advance if anyone finds my post offensive. Chicago 00:15, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I also don't understand why his father was only half-German. What nationality was his other parent? Gene Nygaard 20:17, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Al-Suli's Diamond
editIs it worth noting that Averbakh was the first man to solve Al-Suli's Diamond? The problem went unsolved for over a thousand years. ChromeAce (talk) 20:02, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
