Proxmox

edit

It's unclear to me if Proxmox VE would be considered a Xen management interface or not. It supplies a management interface, but is also the dom 0 and provides other features for storage management. Still, I feel like it might deserve a mention on this page somewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.156.255.250 (talk) 06:02, 22 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

edit

What is "type 1" vm ?

edit

The article begins "Xen (pronounced /ˈzɛn/) is a type-1 virtual machine,..." but type 1 is not defined here or in the virtual machine page. What is a type 1 vm ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:600:9F7F:BAC3:D250:99FF:FEC2:1781 (talk) 22:14, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

This was a mistake. Xen is a type-1 hypervisor, not a VM. Type-1 vs type-2 is explained in the hypervisor article. I have corrected the Xen article. Sypwn (talk) 21:23, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Should dom0 and domU have their own pages?

edit

Currently, these both redirect to this page (Xen). The descriptions given in the text of this article suggest that they are independent concepts from Xen, so it seems to me that they should not redirect here, but instead should have their own articles. I am not an expert on the topic, however. Jtbwikiman (talk) 17:40, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
