Talk:Women rulers in Maya society

Title

I am going to WP:BOLDly rename this article to Queens in Maya society. Just to be on the safe side in case anyone wonders or objects, these are the reasons:

• The category for all women/female "Maya rulers" has been named Category:Maya queens since 2011.
• The Template:Maya has referred to them as "Queens" since 2012.
• Two recent CfR precedents have confirmed that in all cases, all women/female "Maya rulers" may be called "queens".

Although men may be variously called "kings" or "chiefs" (at the expense of the ambiguous and now-depricated word "rulers" for Maya categories), there has never been a question over "queens". In the cases of Category:Monarchs of Tikal, Category:Monarchs of Palenque and the parent Category:Maya monarchs, "monarchs" was chosen to include "queens" per MOS:GNL.

• In accordance, I've renamed the main article (until recently named Maya rulers, and then briefly Maya Kings and Queens), to Maya monarchs, with "Maya kings and queens" as an WP:ALTNAME.
• This article itself never actually uses the word "ruler" to refer to a woman, apart from the title "Women rulers in Maya society", and the category "Women rulers". The only time "ruler" is mentioned in the text is to refer to a man. Otherwise, it mentions "queen(s)" three times in the main body, twice in the references, once in the Template:Maya and once in the Category:Maya queens.

That seems pretty clear, but as said, I'm mentioning this just in case. I don't think it warrants an WP:RM. Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 12:31, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
