The article has the sentence "Winterplace sits atop the highest point in Southern West Virginia." This is obviously wrong, since Winterplace is not even on a county highpoint. Both Mercer and Monroe counties, on the southern edge of WV, have higher summits. The best claimant for title of "highest point in Southern West Virginia" would probably be the Monroe county highpoint, Peters Mtn, elevation 4073 feet (473 feet HIGHER than Winterplace).
