2007 Overhaul
editI just gave this page a major overhaul. This work by Hugo is not really an 'essay', because an essay by definition is supposed to be brief, and my copy is 300 pages. It's not really a biography either, or at least, most of the work isn't. It is literary criticism. I'm not sure what the entry should be titled. I replaced the quote that had been on the page with one I felt resonated more strongly today. Admittedly, this is an opinion. --Gavroche42 00:06, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
2015 Overhaul
editI did some rewriting here. Despite this work's title, I am not convinced this should be part of a Shakespeare project.
This page could use some sources besides Graham Robb's biography Victor Hugo. Robb summarizes it well, but he is not Hugo's only biographer.--GoldCoastPrior (talk) 16:01, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
