Notability

edit

I am not convinced that this article passes muster. The first source in the article is hardly an objective source, and yet it currently seems to be the primary anchor in assuming his notability. With the limited information I have in front of me, I believe that the strongest independent justification would follow criterion 7 of WP:PROF: The person has made substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity. This would hinge on verifying the notability of Jacobson's contributions as a consultant to the media as well as the notability of his blog. —Bill Price(notyourbroom) 00:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have added links to the many major national publications that Jacobson and his blog have been sourced in to the article, establishing that Jacobson satisfies criterion 3 of WP:WEB: The content is distributed via a medium which is both respected and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine... Rather than a candidate for deletion, a more appropriate category would thus be as a stub. I have added this tag to the article. HHS 89 (talk) 04:26, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
UPDATE: As the article's subject meets notability per WP:WEB criterion 3, I have removed the proposal for deletion and unverified notoriety labels. HHS 89 (talk) 04:32, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I agree. His blog ranking is higher than some of the other blogs listed on WP.

The article at present reads like an infomercial. If I cared more about this person I'd investigate whether he grooms his own image. Rousse (talk) 17:33, 16 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
