I've been bold and removed the non-notable achievements of William Bentinck. Existence of article, in context of proposed guidelines WP:NOBLE, not questioned. --C-sonic 12:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest the reinstatement of this article after 4 years of inactivity. Google search for 'Will Bentinck' ('William' finds historical figures):

- Given the increased notability of the subject and an additional request for reinstatement of this page, I've rewritten this biography based on solid secondary sources noted within. Datagarden (talk) 06:29, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Graf bentick?
editThe article mentions him being a Graf, which is a historical noble title in Germany- in English it means Count. My main question is, did William Bentick have German ancestry? (it doesn't mention him having German ancestry on his article). Thank you for your answers and response. :) --PrincessAlice13 (talk) 13:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- Dutch and German:
- in 1732 the title Graf (Count) Bentinck, of the Holy Roman Empire, was created for William Bentinck, son of the 1st Earl of Portland. A Royal Licence of 1886 was created which allowed the use of this title in England as well. This title continues to be held by Tim Bentinck, 12th Earl of Portland and his heirs. - Bentinck#History — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.198.88 (talk) 16:44, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
