This article has been the subject of a fair amount of discussion. Just an FYI. --evrik (talk) 23:08, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tempo

edit

Why does it say the song runs at 120 beats per minute? No, it doesn’t! It’s way faster than that. --121.220.209.184 (talk) 06:56, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure why it says that, and I agree that 120 bpm is just plain wrong. I checked and it's around 156 or so. I'll see if I can find the source for that information or find a new one with the correct value.--Cerebral726 (talk) 12:23, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. I don't believe that's correct. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:38, 1 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Bass line

edit

The ascending part of the bass line of the song sounds exactly like being taken from KISS's (ironically named song) "Take Me", from their 1976 album "Rock and Roll Over". 86.124.137.156 (talk) 17:56, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Listing of Instruments

edit

As a pretty big Devo fan, I think that listing "bass guitar" as one of the instruments used on Whip It is incorrect. I am almost certain that it is a synthesizer that has been set to play in the same octave as a bass guitar. Every instance of Whip It being performed live has Gerald Casale using a synth to play the bassline. The only reason I didn't edit the article is because of the possibility that I could be incorrect and I don't know how to exactly list the bass. Could someone advise me on this? Howard Siegel

edit

Howard Siegel is misspelled as Siegal 2x in this post. This is Jack Black's half brother. I would have fixed it but the whole thing is locked. 73.229.107.24 (talk) 19:54, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
