Band name
editThe article currently contains two completely incompatible explanations of the origin of the band name. Only one can be correct. If both have refs, the article needs to at least *mention* the ambiguity. This band are getting a *lot* of attention this year, and their article needs to be tighter than it is at the moment. --Ef80 (talk) 17:48, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Early lives
edit"I moved there (Isle of Wight) when I was 8. I grew up in like near Liverpool ... (in Scouse accent) in Formby, Merseyside" - Rhian Teasdale, Brightonsfinest.com interview on YouTube. Rhian was born in the Sefton North registration district in 1993 which covers part of Merseyside. Hester was born in Yeovil, Somerset in 1994. Both have the middle name Louise. Rhian's parents were in the merchant navy. Hester's family have a jewellery business.C3MC2 (talk) 19:29, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Second album
editIn an interview with Allan Clayton of ABC in Australia in July 2022, Wet Leg admitted that they hadn't completed their second album yet despite previously saying in an interview that they had completed it. They had only joked about completing it. Doug Richards
editRichards contributed to an article in the Times/Sunday Time in which he claims to be a founder of the band, as well as the writer or inspiration for various songs, but this is not sufficient to alter the information about the band until it is independently confirmed. At the moment it is just a claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vectronn (talk • contribs) 20:51, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- We do not have any sources suggesting this is controversial. The article begins with the words ‘Doug Richards started the indie band’. There is no ambiguity about these words.
- Find a reliable source for your claim.

- Of course it’s controversial. Richards claims to have co-founded the band, written some of the its tracks, and even disputes the origin of the bands name. There are legal and IP ownership aspects to that, and it could lead to legal action. The article only includes his side of the story, so although it seems unambiguous, it isn’t. Vectronn (talk) 08:08, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- It should remain as a claim by Richards until his opinion is corroborated. Vectronn (talk) 08:10, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- If you think it’s controversial, cite a reliable source. It’s no use saying it’s controversial based on your own opinion.
