Fair use rationale for Image:LloydAlexander Westmark.jpg

edit

Image:LloydAlexander Westmark.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Existentialism translations

edit

>>"Showing influences from the French existentialist writers whose works Alexander translated early in his career,"

Did Alexander translate more works than Sartre, Nausea? At Lloyd Alexander#Bibliography we list only that one translation. --P64 (talk) 19:56, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he did actually. Other Sartre works and a book of poetry by Paul Éluard. Will try to find cites. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 21:42, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Remodeling

Hi! I am a paid student editor working out of the BYU Library. We have a collection of Lloyd Alexander's papers and effects at the library. I'm just trying to improve the page, so let me know if there's anything else I can do!

Here's a link to our Lloyd Alexander collection: http://archives.lib.byu.edu/repositories/14/resources/11237

ORIGINS:
  • "He noted that Westmark was written because of..." Change this from passive to active voice. Example: "He noted that he wrote Westmark because of..." OR "He noted that Westmark stemmed from..."
  • "fantasy and not": This is a tricky one. It feels kinda awkward, but I'm not sure how else to put it.
  • The part about influence from World War II would fit best after the sentence that starts with "He noted that Westmark..."
  • The rest of the structure looks fine to me, but the sentence about fantasy and not-fantasy would fit best at the end because it doesn't fit in the middle of the information about his difficulty in writing.
